“DIMANAKA- DI A HLABA DITJOTJELA CULTURAL EVENT”

“Dimanaka- Di a hlaba Ditjotjela Cultural Event” The event took place on Saturday 29 October 2016 at the ground next to the New Hall in Bohlokong. It was established in the year 2000 by Mr Lejone Motloung and the Dihlabeng Local Municipality Started being involved from the 2016. The event is aimed at preserving culture heritage through teaching and entertainment; tourism, providing a platform for government departments (SAPS, Agriculture, Health etc.) and other institutions to motivate, share information and educate the community. The organizers of the event want to see the event grow and reach even more people and also appreciate their cultural heritage, promote social cohesion and inculcate family values and mutual respect. Groups that took part: Ditjotjela, Dikgalala, tsa Mashaeng, Mehaladitwe ya Basotho, Dikgeleke tsa Mashaeng, Dinonnori tsa Kgubetswana, Rapelang Makgwakgwa, Mahase-Mahase and many others. The event has grown a lot when compared with previous years in terms of spectators and participating groups. The municipality sponsored the event while the standard Bank provided medals, trophies and certificates. Guests included: Basotho Cultural Village, Harrismith Cultural Society and visitors from Eastern Cape and Gauteng. Lesedi FM also provided support and were also in attendance.
