Mourning together with the bereaved families

Ours is a caring, responsible and responsive government. The Executive Mayor and fellow councillors in office for only 2 days have really hit the ground running. On Thursday the 18 August the Chitja family who had lost their 5 year old child, who passed away after falling into a water-filled trench was visited. The purpose was to pay homage and offer support to the family in their hour of need. The Executive Mayor, accompanied by councillors and the municipal manager were warmly received by the grieving family. After spending time with the family the municipal leadership went to the scene of the tragedy.
