THE QUALITY OF DRINKING WATER PROVIDED BY THE DIHLABENG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

There are rumours currently doing the rounds in social media with claims of presence of e. coli bacteria in the water provided by our municipality. The statement also “warns” the community to desist from consuming the water unless boiled or cooled and encourages buying of bottled water.

The basis of the rumour is the purported report by the environmental health practitioner whose identity and agency are not provided.

As the municipality we hereby state categorically that, there is no truth in the allegation. The water supplied by our municipality more than meets all the standards of health and quality.
