    WOLHUTERSKOP NATURE RESERVE: CULLING OF GAME

    Bids are herewith invited from Culling Companies for:

    The culling of 100 Blesbuck and 162 (minimum) Black Wildebeest by means of Helicopter or Night culling action at Wolhuterskop Nature Reserve, Bethlehem, minimum of 5 days during July/August 2016.

    Specifications and conditions:


    1. Skinners/butchers must be supplied by the Culling Company.

    2. The weighing of each carcass will be done under the supervision of representatives from Dihlabeng Local Municipality and the buyer. The buyer will provide a calibrated scale and supply a certified copy of the valid calibration certificate. A copy of the document where all the individual weights of the carcasses are record must be handed to the representative before the departure of the culling team.

    3. Payment of all loaded and weighed carcasses must be made, before departure from Wolhuterskop Nature Reserve.

    4. Carcasses will be weighed as follows: head and feet off, internal organs removed and with the skin on.

    5. Wounded animals will be paid for by the buyer using an average weight of 40kg per Blesbuck and 70kg per Black Wildebeest found wounded or left behind after the culling action. Wounded animals will be identified and the buyer will be notified within 7 days. Payment of the said animals must be made within 7 days of notification.

    6. Culling must be conducted according to the required health and safety standards.

    7. Culling team members must be in possession of valid hunting licences for hunting in the Free State Province as well as written permission from the Municipality to proceed with the culling operation.

    8. Culling team/company must supply proof of previous actions/experience in culling and also list relevant references from most recent customers.

    9. All the Black Wildebeest must be removed from Wolhuterskop Nature Reserve.

    10. Culling of Blesbuck must be mainly bachelor rams and thereafter must include an acceptable ratio of young and adult animals.

    11. The price must include all material, labour and travelling (no hidden cost for the Municipality).

    12. The tender are to be submitted in the following format: R…. /kg –irrespective of the condition of the meat.

    Bid documents will be available as from 12:00 on Friday, 27 May 2016, upon payment of a cash non-refundable document fee of R500,00 per set, at the Dihlabeng Local Municipality, 9 Muller Street, Bethlehem, 9700.

    Bids are to be completed in accordance with the conditions and bid rules contained in the bid documents and must be sealed together with supporting documents and externally endorsed “WITH CONTRACT NUMBER AND BID DESCRIPTION” and placed in bid box, on the Ground Floor, the Dihlabeng Local Municipality, 9 Muller Street, Bethlehem, 9700 not later than 12:00 on Friday, 10 June 2016.

    Bids will be opened in public as soon as possible after the closing time. The municipality reserves the right to reject any and all bids at any time.
